Questions
Why do I need Universal Space Systems' Space Adventurer Assessment/Report?Anyone who is interested in space travel and hopes to take a sub-orbital or orbital trip into space someday, on-board one of the commercial space vehicles now under development, needs to understand what this type of travel is all about. Our Space Adventurer Assessment/Report does that - we spell out exactly what space travel (Space Tourism) is because there is nothing else quite like it and a future space traveler needs to be an informed space traveler. Unless you know someone who has gone into space (we happen to know quite a few of them having worked with them), you have absolutely no idea what to expect. We offer a completely independent and unbiased picture of Space Tourism and take the time to explain everything in a an easy to understand format. Traveling into space is not like take a trip on an airplane. The Space Tourism Industry is an regulated industry and there are many risks involved. We want you to make the right space travel decision - an informed, intelligent decision that is right for you, using the information that is in our Space Adventurer Assessment/Report. Back to TopWhat is in the report? The simple answer is everything about Space Tourism! The report is filled with words, pictures, diagrams, tables and anything and everything necessary to communicate a Space Tourism topic. The information in the document is drawn from newspapers, magazines, national and local television programs, radio broadcasts, books, reports, Internet Web sites and personal experiences in the NASA human space programs. One thing you can be sure of is that we go to great extreme with the level of detail, quality of information and rich content to keep you informed on Space Tourism. To get the real picture about what the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report contains, "click" the appropriate button here to see the actual Table of Contents or sample pages. To view these pages online, you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed on your PC.(Note: After viewing these pages, "click" on your Internet browser Back button to return here.)Back to TopHow difficult is it to understand what the report is telling me?Unlike technical books, documents or reports dealing with the subject of
space, you don't need an advanced math, engineering or science degree to
understand what is being discussed in the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report.
At the same time, the information in the report is not simplistic either because
space travel is not simple. Any college educated individual would have no difficulty reading and understanding the information
being explained. It was not our intent to overwhelm the reader with more
scientific information than was necessary to get the point across. After all,
you're not going to be flying the space vehicle, you're just taking a ride in
it. If you are familiar with the "Consumer Reports ®"
magazines or the "...for Dummies ®" books, our report would
fit in with that same level of reading comprehension necessary. If a reader of
the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report is looking for more technical details or
specific information on a topic being explained they can certainly get that by
referencing the Bibliography at the end of each chapter in our report. Back to TopCan't I get this information from other sources?Sure you can, but how much time do you have, do you know where to go to look for the information you want and will it be explained in a format that you can understand? Universal Space Systems has done just that so you don't have to. We have read hundreds of newspapers articles, numerous magazines, reviewed national and local television programs, listened to many radio broadcasts, read space books, analyzed many reports, critiqued space related Internet Web sites, etc. We have taken all our research data and created an easy to read and use reference document that is complete, detailed, accurate and timely. With the FREE lifetime updates purchase plan option, you will always have the latest Space Tourist information available when you are ready for your space adventure so you won't have to stay on top of what is taking place in the industry because we will be doing that for you! Universal Space Systems' Space Adventurer Assessment/Report and companion Web sites are your one-stop for all your Space Tourism information needs. There simply is no reason to go anywhere else. Back to TopWhen will the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report be released? At Universal Space Systems our goal has always been to have the first release of our product timed with the first commercial flight of a sub-orbital trip to space with paying customers. We are doing this on purpose to ensure that the most current Space Tourism information is in our report. Based upon the current information available to us (as of October 2011), that first flight should be by the commercial space company, Virgin Galactic, launching out of Spaceport America in New Mexico (USA) in early 2013. That being said, we expect the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report to be released in the fourth quarter of 2012. Because the first flight is such a dynamic event, we may have to revise our release date estimate earlier or later depending upon Virgin Galactic's progress. In any event, you will always be able to see our projected release date by "clicking" here: status. You will also find a similar link to this information on our Home page and on the USS Today Web page. Back to TopWhy is the report only available to me electronically/on-line/in an E-book format? The main driver for our decision to do this has been to keep the cost of what we have to offer very low. Another reason is that we anticipate so many fast paced changes in the Space Tourism Industry that we would be spending so much time on getting the report copied, printed and/or "burned" onto a CD and mailed that we couldn't focus on our primary responsibility, which is to provide complete, detailed, accurate and timely information on Space Tourism. That is not to say that you can't print a copy of the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report or "burn" it onto a CD yourself - you can if your a "Member" or "Client" of Universal Space Systems (also see Question #16). In addition, this means of product distribution allows you to have immediate access to a report when it becomes available after release - you wouldn't have to wait for the printed document or CD to arrive in the mail. Back to TopWouldn't it be a mistake to order a report now if I don't even have any space travel plans yet?ABSOLUTELY NOT! As a matter of fact, purchasing the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report now would be your smartest move because the cost (for all purchase plans) will never be lower. This is even more significant when you chose the purchase plan option to have FREE lifetime updates to the report, which is only slightly more in cost than buying a single report without the FREE updates! Universal Space Systems will be regularly revising, updating and releasing our report to keep up with what will become rapid changes in the Space Tourism Industry as it develops, grows and matures so choosing that purchase plan with FREE lifetime updates makes the most economic sense. With that choice, you will always have the latest Space Tourist information available when you are ready for your space adventure, whether it's next year or five to ten years from now and it will cost you nothing extra for each new report (also see Question #9)! Back to TopIs there a way to look at the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report before I order one?Yes, but this won't be available until the first release of the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report occurs (also see Question #5). We haven't quite worked out all the details but we will probably issue a temporary ID and PIN valid for 24 hours for access into the Members/Clients Web Site where the complete, released Space Adventurer Assessment/Report will be located for review. Come back to this Web page and Question for more details when we get closer to our projected first release date. For now, you may also want to read what we say in Question #2. Back to TopWhat does the report cost? There are two (2) distinct cost categories, Pre-release and Post-release. You can definitely save money by placing an order during the Pre-release time period instead of waiting until the first release. The easiest way to explain what the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report costs is with our cost comparison matrix: Note: You become a "Member" or "Client" of Universal Space Systems depending upon the type of purchase plan you select (also see Question #16 for more definition). We make the process of ordering a gift Space Adventurer Assessment/Report as easy as ordering one for yourself. Read the next question below for specifics about placing a gift order. If you want to place an order now for the the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report, "click" here: Back to TopWhat is the purpose of this Web site? This Web site is to educate the public on commercial space travel while promoting and reporting on the Space Tourism Industry (i.e. Space Tourism). The company is positioned to be both a “guide dog” and a “watch dog” for anyone interested in becoming a “Space Tourist” through it’s Space Adventurer Assessment/Report and by providing other custom consulting services. Universal Space Systems is committed to providing a level of service that will always put the needs of the future space traveler first while promoting the successful development of this fledgling industry. If you haven't looked around this Web site to see what we have to offer, why don't you do it now! Back to TopWhen will the other Universal Space Systems' Web sites be available? That's a tough one to answer right now, given that our full focus is working on the first release of our Space Adventurer Assessment/Report (also see Question #5). We can't say when this will happen but, the order in which we expect the other Web sites to come on-line is as follows:
Come back to this Web page and Question for more details when we get closer to our projected first release date and we'll have a better idea for their availability. You can also check their status by going to our Web page on this Web site where we will post this information. This link is on our Home page - or "click" here: USS Web Sites Back to TopWhat is the difference between a "Member" and a "Client"?A "Member" is someone who is part of the Universal Space Systems' community of space traveler enthusiasts with access and special rights in the Members/Clients Web site (also see Question #17 below). A "Client" is also a "Member" but has made arrangements with a space travel launch provider (for example, Virgin Galactic) or their authorized Travel Agent for a trip into space. You become a "Member" or "Client" of Universal Space Systems depending upon the type of purchase plan you select when ordering the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report (also see Question #13). The difference between these and no status at all is summarized here: Note: If you select a purchase plan with a "Client" status, you will first be placed in "Member" status until we receive proof of a pending space adventure, which will then automatically place you in our "Client" status. Proof of eligibility can consist of any documentation that clearly shows you have made arrangements for a space adventure (example - reservation/confirmation number from your space travel launch provider or their authorized Travel Agent). Back to TopWhat is the Members/Clients Web Site? This special Web site is our knowledge base of what we know about the Space Tourism Industry. First and foremost, it contains the complete, on-line copy of the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report - both the current and previous versions. In addition there is information about Space Tourism not found anywhere else on this Web site. We do this to provide you with the latest information affecting Space Tourism so you can make the right choice for your space adventure. Here is the current Table of Contents of the Members/Clients Web site as it exists today, but as the Space Tourism Industry develops, grows and matures the Members/Clients Web site will evolve to reflect the current industry status: Note: Remember that in order to access this Web site you must either be a "Member" or a "Client" (also see Question #16 above). Although this special Web site has been released, it is not yet completely finished but will be by the time the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report is released (also see Question #5). Back to TopWhy would I want to have access to the Members/Clients Web Site? It's the place to be! Seriously... It's how you stay connected with others who share a similar desire to travel to space (see the question above). This is where you can not only read and learn about changes in Space Tourism, but you can also discuss them and share other ideas and information with the community. The Members/Clients Web site is in-line with our philosophy and mission to be THE single source of information for anything and everything happening in this newly emerging and developing space industry. Back to TopHow does the Universal Space Systems Space Education Fund work? This is a long-term goal of Universal Space Systems - to promote Space Tourism and space travel by assisting in the education of the next generation of space travelers/adventurers. The purpose of this fund is two-fold:
If you want to learn more or help out with this effort, you can find a link to this on our Home page - or "click" here: Space Ed Fund Back to TopHow can the Space Adventurer Assessment/Report benefit a Travel Agency? There are many within the Travel Industry who say that the next big boom for them will be in space travel. Since space travel for future Space Tourists is in it's infancy, there is not a lot of knowledge about space for a professional travel agent to be able to communicate what Space Tourism means to their clients. Travel agencies that want to participate in Space Tourism, and have the information about it, will have a huge advantage over those uninformed agencies who will simply end up watching from the sidelines! The only way to become part of the Space Tourism Industry is to get involved. The Space Adventurer Assessment/Report is the perfect reference book for a Travel Agency to become informed about space travel. Some travel agencies have already aligned themselves with a future provider of sub-orbital commercial spaceflights but that is not to say that other travel agencies won't be able to do the same thing. Now is the time to take advantage of this ground floor opportunity to learn what space travel is all about, what challenges future Space Tourists face and what travel agency competition will be telling their clients.
